This bootcamp addresses conceptual, technical and vocational aspects of photography with a fun, hands-on approach. From war photography to Instagram influencers, the world of visual images awaits!

LESSON PLAN

Basic techniques capturing perfect image. ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed

Homework Assignment

Shooting different subjects – on the streets, someone at work, exploring light/exposure head-and-shoulder portrait.

Learning Objectives

Students will be able to understand the basic principles of photography

Contrast, depth of field, perspective, lenses, conveying movement. History of photography.

Homework Assignment

Three different concepts of image; depth of field, movement and creative perspective. DIY pinhole camera – create your own image.

Learning Objectives

Students will have knowledge of the history of photography and creative techniques. Students will stimulate their imagination by practising creating their own DIY camera at home.

Composition – lines, curves and diagonal, rule of thirds. Reflections. Playing with colours.

Homework Assignment

Research photographer of your own choice. Create a mood board and recreate the most inspiring image from the photographer as your own.

Students will convey an un-understanding of colours, style and technique unique to them. Students will be able to demonstrate their own creativity in applying it to their own work

Create a thematically coherent project. Black and white, the colour of light, natural light and low light.

Homework Assignment

Project photoshoot/structure a story.

Students will put their skills to the test. They will learn to structure, and create a visual story through their imaginative eyes.

Students are able to have a clear vision and a real understanding of what it takes to communicate a story concisely and with passion. Students will demonstrate a high standard of photographic technical skills, confidence, creativity, capturing emotions and applying their knowledge to each photo taken.
